Wondering how?
With Google My Business.
Google My Business (GMB): A free listing of your business's operational information, reviews, posts, images and more.
Google My Business
Most people you meet think of GMB as just another place to display information about the business.
But this isn't true!
If you haven't taken full advantage of Google My Business, you're leaving money on the table.
Used properly, Google My Business is a powerful tool that can bring you more and more business!
And how?
Here it's...
1) Add posts to share company updates
Google introduced "POST' feature for all businesses in 2017. With this feature, you can post updates and offers in your listing. You can promote the latest offers, share updates about new products/services or special events for free.
With Google Posts, you can add text, photos, gifs, and even call-to-action buttons like 'Buy', 'Sign Up', 'Learn More', 'Get Offer", 'Reserve', etc.
You can create posts only after you verify your Google My Business account.
However, Google My Business posts disappear after seven days unless you set a shorter period. So be precise about the time when you create the post.
2) Make sure the information is complete and consistent
Don't leave your audience guessing or making assumptions about you. Make sure your entry details convey enough facts. Try to include as much information as GMB requires.
If you just put NAP (name, address, phone) in your entry and wait for miracles to happen, then I can tell you that this is a complete waste of time.
Also,
Make sure that the information you have entered in the listing matches the information on your website EXACTLY THE SAME.
Inconsistencies in the information will negatively affect your search ranking.
3) Verify your listing (if you haven't already)
This is the key to unlock all GMB features.
To verify your listing, you'll need to enter a code that will be sent to your business address.
If you expect to do business through GMB, it's very important to verify your business. With so many fake business registrations being made every day, a user wouldn't prefer to make a purchase through an unverified listing.
After verification, you need to check your Google My Business listing inbox for emails from Google. Google may remove verification from a listing if it determines that the account has been inactive for an extended period of time.
4) Google My Business descriptions ARE BACK!
In 2015 and 2016, there were descriptions on Google My Business. Suddenly they disappeared and since then businesses had no descriptions, causing users to assume your products and services.
Well, the good news is...
Business descriptions are back!
Google My Business descriptions give you the opportunity to describe your business to your audience and explain what sets you apart from your competitors.
Google My Business descriptions are limited to 750 characters. This allows you to get your message out to people while optimizing the listing by using relevant keywords.

5) Get more and more reviews (and respond to them)
As described by Neil Patel in one of his articles,
Good reviews = sales.
More good reviews = more sales.
90% of people read reviews before they buy something, because everyone likes a second opinion.
Ask your customers to rate your business. But collecting reviews alone doesn't help. You also need to acknowledge them.
And all of them!
The positive, the negative, the neutral.
6) Update your business hours and payment options
Make sure your business hours are accurate. Update your business hours when special events occur. Make sure you aren't losing customers because your business hours aren't correct.
Also update your listing for changes in payment options.
7) Choose the best Google My Business category for your business
Be specific when choosing a category for your business. Take into account your targeted keywords.
However, be careful. Don't stuff your listing with keywords.
Remember to be specific. Don't enter "cosmetology" if you run a "nail salon"
8) Pictures, pictures, and more pictures
Pictures say a lot!
According to Google, businesses with photos see 35% more clicks to their website and 42% more requests for directions on Google Maps.
Adding photos of your business is a great way to give your customers a behind-the-scenes look at your business... AND can go a long way in promoting your business.
People don't want to see stock photos, they want to see the real face of your business - who you're, what you do, and where you're.
The most important image in your GMB listing, the one that gets the most attention and has the most impact, is your "profile picture".
But the cover image is also of utmost importance, as it'll appear front and center in your entry. You can also add other images that relate to your business; these can include images of the inside and outside of the business, your company's goods and/or services, your staff or employees, or any other image that summarizes or describes your business.
9) Google My Business videos
You can also add videos. Videos must be:
30 seconds or shorter
100 MB or smaller
720p resolution or higher
Unlike images, videos aren't a must. However, if you add one, you'll stand out from the other companies.
To create a video, you do not need any additional equipment or video editing software. Just pick up your smartphone, record the video, save it and share it. This video needs to be recorded at your location. All commercials or promotional videos will be removed.
Conclusion:
Google My Business provides potential customers with information about your business. It gives you the opportunity to interact with your customers.
If you do not optimize your Google My Business listing, it's like not opening the door to a customer who knocks on your door.
